The TPSM8282x device family consists of 1-A and 2-A step-down converter MicroSiP™ power modules optimized for small solution size and high efficiency.
The power module integrates a synchronous buck converter and inductor to simplify design, reduce external components, and save printed circuit board (PCB) area. The device is housed in a compact low profile package suitable for automated assembly by standard surface mount equipment.
To maximize efficiency, the converter operates in pulse-width modulation (PWM) mode at a nominal switching frequency of 4MHz and automatically enters a power-saving mode of operation at light load current conditions.
In power-save mode, the device operates with a typical quiescent current of 4µA. Using the DCS-Control topology, the device achieves excellent load transient performance and accurate output regulation. The device's EN and PG pins support sequential configuration for flexible system design. An integrated soft-start function reduces the inrush current required from the input power supply. Over-temperature protection and hiccupic short-circuit protection make the solution robust and reliable.
