The adjusting voltage regulator generates Adjustable output. This voltage regulator 12v fits the Surface Mount mounting. As long as its operating temperature is -40°C~125°C TJ, dc to dc voltage regulator should perform well. A DC-DC switching regulator such as this one switches at 500kHz. This voltage regulator is able to operate with the minimal input voltage of 4.5V. With its peak reflow temperature of 260, this voltage regulator is essentially indestructible.
